Inspired onwards from our stay at Union Road Moto Velo, Crediton, with breakfast in a room full of classic motorcycles – it was going to be a ‘grippy’ day biking down the Queen’s highway.
We had only 42 miles to complete today and so the cycling pace could be more leisurely. We stopped regularly along the winding back roads of Cornwall, chatted and took in the hidden green valleys and stunning scenery. There was a little sting in the tail with some very steep ascents but overall still a very enjoyable day.
Thank you to Andy and Julie Frounks in OBridge, who quite randomly introduced themselves – it must have been our cycling jerseys and the Parkinson’s logo that caught their eye. Andy & Julie had been fundraisers for Parkinson’s themselves and Andy had suffered from the condition for over 7 years. We swapped stories and enjoyed their offer of refreshments. Our inspiration triggered again, we cycled with purpose and speeded further on up to Bridgwater, our destination for a day 3.
